We both truly appreciate all who join us for our special day and also understand a destination wedding requires a lot of organisation from our guests.

Getting there…

Nearest Airports : Girona (45mins) & Barcelona (85mins)

We recommend setting alerts/reminders for May 2025 in order to get the best deals possible. As the Costa Brava is a popular tourist destination, most airlines and cost effective flight routes are operated on a weekly basis - why not consider a holiday in the beautiful region whilst you’re here!

  • There are direct flights to Girona from Manchester with;

    Ryanair (Mon/Tues/Weds)
    Jet2 ( Mon/Fri/Sat)


    Leeds Bradford;

    Ryanair (Tues/Fri/Sat)
    Jet2 (Thurs)

    For those travelling from the South, Stansted operates direct flights to Girona.

  • Flights are regular from Manchester & Liverpool to Barcelona during the month of May via Jet2.com, EasyJet and RyanAir.


From the airports to the Palafrugell area…

From Girona:

We suggest taking a taxi to and from the airport - aprx 45mins.

From Barcelona:

For those flying into Barcelona, the most cost efficient and all round more scenic option is to hire a car from Barcelona airport and take the coastal route up to Calella de Palafrugell. Aprx 90 min drive.

Car Hire - we have regularly used ‘Centauro’ from Barcelona and highly recommend them. (TIP - take out their insurance to ensure you’re fully covered - drop and go without inspection. They provide a 5 min shuttle bus to and from the airport. )

Alternatively there is a high speed rail line that takes 38mins from Barcelona Sants Station directly to Girona. To get from the airport to Sants Station there is a 15min train from inside the airport.

The Resorts

There are a few towns within a 15 minute drive of the venue, with plenty of accommodation options to suit all.

After visiting we recommend staying within one of the two following resorts - Llafranc & Calella de Palafrugell.

There will be a complimentary coach pick up & drop off to and from the venue from both of these towns on both Saturday & Sunday.

There is a also a car park at the venue for anyone wishing to drive.

Llafranc & Calella de Palafrugell

These two neighboring resorts are directly next to each other on the Mediterranean coastline. Accessible by a 6 min drive or a 20 min walk around the hilltop coastal path.
Whichever resort you choose to stay in you can be sure to enjoy both whilst you’re here!

LLAFRANC

Who's it good for? Couples, groups of friends looking for a relaxed, unrowdy beach scene. Recommended for a few nights - if staying longer and with children you may want to opt for the slightly larger Calella.

What is there to do? Coastal walks, diving, relaxing on the beach, woodland hike up to the St. Sabastien lighthouse. A great base for exploring out of town.

What makes it special? This resort town was frequented by filmstars and artists, including Salvador Dalí, throughout the 20th century. Far from the high rises and large hotels of other resorts on the Costa Brava.

CALELLA DE PALAFRUGELL

Who's it good for? Families with younger children, couples, groups of friends. There are a couple of slightly larger hotels with pools suitable for a longer stay.

What is there to do? Coastal walks, watersports, eating/drinking, exploring it’s tangled streets & the Cap Roig Botanical Gardens.

What makes it special? Many of the original two story fishing dwellings have been converted into modern apartments whilst still retaining their original charm. Explore the winding streets where you’ll find plenty of lovely restaurants/bars.

Getting to and from the venue

We will be operating a complimentary bus from both Llafranc & Calella de Palafrugell on both Saturday and Sunday.

Alternatively you can book a private taxi to and from the venue. However, we have been advised that you must pre-book with one of the below firms before the day of the wedding.

Taxi companies who aren’t used to the roads around the venue will charge a lot more to go up to the villa, whereas these two are frequently used and so are very used to the route!

Other taxi firms unfamiliar with the venue may refuse to pick up.
